FamousSparrow, a China‑aligned threat group, is intensifying attacks on governmental organizations across Latin America. Since August 2025 the group has abandoned its SparrowDoor backdoor in favor of a new custom C++ backdoor called SparroWocky, which now incorporates code from open‑source projects. ESET researchers named the backdoor SparroWocky because the first samples contained the opening stanza of Lewis Carroll’s poem “Jabberwocky.”
