1961: Inherited the aircraft equipment division of Sumitomo Metal Industries Ltd. (now Nippon Steel Corporation) and established Sumitomo Precision Industries Ltd.

1963: Began manufacturing large heat exchangers for low-temperature industrial use

1967: Began manufacturing large propellers for patrol aircraft

1969: Began manufacturing liquefied natural gas vaporization equipment

1970: Listed on both the Tokyo and Osaka Stock Exchanges

1974: Began manufacturing ozone generators

1975: Obtained US ASME standards for heat exchangers

1986: Expanded into vacuum equipment field and developed semiconductor manufacturing equipment business

1988: Developed ultra-high concentration ozone generator achieving world-class ozone generation levels; started development and manufacturing of space equipment

1990: Began manufacturing stainless steel heat exchangers for high-temperature applications

1993年 : 和歌山（熱交換器）工場完成

1994: Obtained ISO9001 certification for low-temperature industrial heat exchangers

1995: Acquired Surface Technology Systems plc (STS) in the UK

1996: Established Water Engineering Center

1997: Obtained ISO9001 certification for equipment for civil aircraft

1999: Established joint venture with British BAE Systems for manufacturing and sales of motion sensors; obtained ISO14001 certification at headquarters and factory

2000: Established Sumitomo Precision USA, Inc. (local subsidiary in Texas, USA)

2001: Began manufacturing plasma processing equipment at headquarters factory

2004: Established Ningbo Sumitomo Precision Hydraulic Co., Ltd. in China through joint investment with Ningbo Haitian Group Co., Ltd.

2009: Acquired part of assets and business of US Aviza Technology Inc., established SPP Process Technology Systems Ltd. (SPTS) in the UK, and integrated with STS

2010: Established Sumitomo Precision Industries Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.

2011: Transfer of UK SPTS. Establishment of joint venture SPP Technologies Inc. with SPTS

2014: Establishment of SPP Nagasaki Engineering Co., Ltd.

2019: Establishment of SPP Aerospace Service Inc.

2023: Delisting from Tokyo Stock Exchange Market
