Marvell Technology and Lumentum announced a merger to form a leading AI connectivity company. The combination will unite electrical and optical technologies to meet complex AI infrastructure needs. The new entity aims to offer a full‑stack connectivity portfolio, accelerate production of optimized optical solutions, and expand its market to $550 billion.
Marvell, Microsoft and Oracle have formed an Open Compute Project working group to standardize a silicon-based, attested integrated hardware security module for cloud and hyperscale data centers. The proposed server-level approach to secure key caching, attestation and cryptographic key lifecycle management is intended to reduce latency, improve scalability and strengthen cloud workload security.

Marvell announced its second-generation Structera X 3406 and 3506 CXL 3.2 memory expanders, featuring six DDR4/DDR5 channels and PCIe Gen 6 connectivity. Each controller supports up to 9TB of DDR4 or 6TB of DDR5; multi-host sharing and inline LZ4 compression provide up to 2–3x more effective capacity and up to 40–50% faster time to first token at equivalent context length.

Microsoft, Marvell and Utimaco announced Azure Payment HSM v2, a cloud-native payment security service combining Marvell LiquidSecurity HSMs, Utimaco Atalla Payments Module software and Microsoft Azure. Designed for regulated payment workloads, it helps financial institutions and payment service providers meet PCI security, compliance, audit and operational requirements without deploying or managing HSM payment infrastructure. Public preview begins September 17, 2026.
