United Nova Technology, formerly Semiconductor Manufacturing Electronics, was honored with BYD NEV's Special Contribution Award at the 2023 Core Supplier Convention for its reliable quality and delivery. Since 2021, United Nova has collaborated with BYD across multiple domains, and its products are widely installed in BYD electric vehicles.
On November 28, China EV 100 Vice Chairman and Secretary-General Zhang Yongwei led a team on a special visit to United Nova Technology (UNT). The delegation toured its clean workshop and learned about its one-stop foundry services, including design, wafer manufacturing, module packaging, application verification, and reliability services.
SMEC announced on October 24 that it is investing to establish UNT Power (Shaoxing) Co., Ltd., with registered capital of RMB 500 million. UNT Power provides one-stop system solutions for automotive-grade silicon carbide manufacturing and module packaging. Its founding shareholders include SMEC, Xinlian, Boyuan Capital, Xiaopeng Xinghang Capital, Luxshare Precision Family Office Liling Fund, SAIC Shangqi Capital, Hengxu Capital, Ningde Chendao Investment, and Sungrow Power.
SMEC reported first-half 2023 revenue of 2.482 billion yuan, up 60.75% year on year. New energy vehicles accounted for 51.86% of revenue and industrial control for 29.60%; operating cash flow rose 74.96% to 962 million yuan.
