The company was founded in 2003 in Sofia by Dimitar Dimitrow and Swetlin Todorow as Allterco AD, initially focused on mobile communications and M2M solutions, before its Shelly-branded IoT devices gained global popularity from 2018 onward.
The company has been listed on the Sofia Stock Exchange since 2016, later converting to a Societas Europaea (SE) in 2024 and adding a Frankfurt Stock Exchange listing.
