Incorporated on August 12, 1969, as Texaco Nigeria Limited, a subsidiary of Texaco Africa Limited. Following the 2001 ChevronTexaco merger, it was renamed Chevron Oil Nigeria Plc in 2006. In 2009, a consortium of MRS Holdings and Petroci Holdings acquired a majority stake, and the company became MRS Oil Nigeria Plc.
