EMC noise from digital circuits propagates through PCB patterns, ground planes, power supply layers, metal housings, and cables. Grounding design is essential for filtering and shielding, with noise filters converting unwanted noise into negligible heat. For cable noise, the conductive layer in cable shields must be electrically connected to frame or chassis ground, and multiple chassis connections on the PCB reduce impedance.
EMC Grounding is the management of interference signals from digital circuits that flow through the PCB, ground plane, power supply, and metal enclosure. Designing the ground wire system is key to filtering and preventing interference. Using filters and connecting the power supply conductors inside the cable to the ground of the structure or chassis helps reduce impedance on the PCB and lower noise.
