Enlight and ENERTRAG have begun construction of the 200 MW Bertikow battery storage project in Germany, with commercial operation targeted for the first half of 2028. The project has a seven-year offtake agreement with EDF Trading, will be optimized by Entrix, and is expected to provide grid restoration services under a ten-year agreement starting in July 2029.

Norcan Petroleum Products and EDF Trading Europe Limited announced an exclusive long-term agreement for the supply of environmentally sustainable ethanol that meets Canada’s Clean Fuels Regulations’ strict carbon-intensity requirements. EDFT will make regular waterborne deliveries to Norcan in Montréal and Quebec City, supporting Norcan’s stock-level targets. The agreement marks an expansion of EDFT’s biofuels business.
EDF Trading appointed Thomas Schröder as its new Head of Environmental Products, effective 26 June 2023. He will report to Head of Origination Valentino Scavardone and be based in London. The company said it plans to focus on environmental products and invest in high-quality voluntary carbon credit projects.
EDF Trading Limited completed the sale of its North American retail business, EDF Energy Services, to bp on November 30, 2022. The sale followed the satisfaction of all necessary conditions precedent.
EDF Trading Limited has entered into a binding share purchase agreement to sell 100% of EDF Energy Services LLC, its North American retail business, to bp. EDFES provides power and natural gas supply, renewable products, and energy portfolio optimization services to customers across North America.
