Used for decades, it is becoming a more strategic approach to project delivery as projects grow more complex, schedules tighten, and skilled labor becomes harder to find. Teams are moving more work from jobsites into controlled environments, with benefits including greater safety and better quality.
Sturgeon Electric California mobilized its teams to help restore electricity in California’s Imperial and Coachella Valleys after storms Lorena and Mario struck in August 2025. Torrential rain and winds reaching 75 mph caused widespread damage and left 8,000 Imperial Irrigation District customers without power.
Edward Finnegan, regional safety manager at Sturgeon Electric California, is driven by teamwork. After serving in the Marine Corps, he has supported lineworkers in the field and helped establish the MYR Group SkillBridge program during his three-and-a-half years with the company.
