Utah Business Magazine introduced the family behind Alinco, which creates popular mascots in America. The article covers the company's roots, craftsmanship, and the journey of a small Utah workshop that became known nationwide.
Alinco Costumes Incorporated acquired Marylen’s Mascot Costumes in April 2025, bringing together two established names in the mascot costume industry. The acquisition adds Marylen’s catalog and craftsmanship to Alinco’s business and strengthens its position in the market.
The article discusses the wear and tear mascot costumes experience while entertaining crowds, including popped seams, makeup removal, and areas that wear quickly. It recommends inspecting the entire costume after each use and fixing minor damage promptly to prevent more expensive problems.
Alinco warns customers about imitation mascot costumes sold by unreliable sellers, often advertised with the company’s pictures at unusually low prices. The company says it purchased one and lists problems to watch for, including undersized packaging, misshapen costumes, duct tape, and felt teeth.
