Worldwide trade barriers, tariffs and geopolitical uncertainty unsettled companies and consumers in 2025; industrial activity noticeably cooled down. During this turbulent period, the Swiss Franc strengthened in its role as safe haven. Thanks to early structuring of its own supply chains, own production facilities in the USA and US tariff exemptions for specialties however, EMS was not significantly affected by these developments. EMS successfully continued its sales offensive with expansion of technical sales and development in Asia, America and Europe, and realized high-margin, innovative new business. With the complete take-over of the shares in EFTEC China previously held by Huayi, and the development of revolutionary process technology, EMS-EFTEC now covers the world's largest automotive market in China even more comprehensively, resulting in sustainable income growth. In 2025, EMS continued to further drive forward the development of new, high-performance applications, providing clear stimulus for innovation and quality. In recognition of its innovative strength, the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) honored EMS on October 6, 2025 with five awards, including the "Grand Award 2025." With these new developments, EMS is opening up numerous new growth areas, for example in robotics. High-performance components, which are particularly lightweight, robust and dimensionally stable are being developed in collaboration with technology leaders. |
