The business divisions are split. The contact systems division is separated and becomes an independent company within the Group. In 2004 this became the independent company 'KOSTAL Kontakt Systeme GmbH & Co. KG'. |

The company moves into new premises in Hagen, Germany. |

KOSTAL Kontakt Systeme GmbH takes over the KOSTAL production plant in Čenkov near Prague in the Czech Republic. |

The US subsidiary company KOSTAL Kontakt Systeme, Inc. is established in Rochester Hills, Michigan. |

A new plant is established at Timberg near Lüdenscheid, Germany, including significant extensions (including high-bay stores) and transfers from the Hagen plant. |

The Dresden-Merbitz plant is established. |
