History
BTC was established in 1980 as a 100% government-owned entity through an Act of Parliament, tasked with developing and operating Botswana's national and international telecommunications services.
BTC became the first Botswana state-owned enterprise to be privatised in 2016, listing on the Botswana Stock Exchange with the government retaining a 54.16% stake.
