The SONABHY was created by KITI No. 85-035/CNR/PRES/PECO dated 9 October 1985, by transferring the assets of the Bobo Storage Company (SEB) and the Burkinabé Hydrocarbons Storage Company (SEBHY), to ensure the importation, storage, and distribution of petroleum products in Burkina Faso.
