History
Established as a uranium mining company in Arlit, Agades State (mining began in 1971). For a long time, French Orano (formerly AREVA) held 63.4% and the Niger government held 36.6%, but at the end of 2024, Orano announced the loss of management rights, and in June 2025, the Niger government declared nationalization, leading to ongoing disputes over ownership.
