CCT Caribbean Cellular Telephone Ltd was founded in 1986 as CCT Boatphone, providing radio boatphones to charter boat tourists, and later expanded into cellular services and rebranded as CCT Global Communications.
In April 2013 CCT became 100% locally owned.
