History
Since its establishment in 1951, it has been working on the greening promotion of Kagoshima Prefecture.
With support from various levels including the prefectural assembly and municipalities, the Kagoshima Prefecture Green Promotion Committee was established in March 1951.
The Kagoshima Prefecture Green Promotion Committee, which was an informal organization, was incorporated as a public interest corporation and, with the purpose of advancing wide-scale and stable greening activities, was established as the Kagoshima Green Foundation on September 13, 1993, with the approval of the prefectural governor.
On May 8, 1995, the Act on the Promotion of Forest Maintenance and Other Activities through Green Donations was enacted.
With the national institutional reform toward public interest corporation reform, the organization received prefectural approval and became a public interest foundation on July 1, 2011.
