The predecessor of TPR was Tanaka Gentaro Co., Ltd., founded by Gentarō Tanaka in 1908 (Meiji 41). It started with the sale of lubricants and lubricating oils, and as the importance of engines increased, it dedicated itself to improving the performance of piston rings, the heart of the engine, establishing its position as a manufacturer, and in 1939, founded Tanaka Piston Ring Co., Ltd., marking the beginning of its ongoing history. |
