Prudential Financial has entered into definitive agreements to sell Prudential of Brazil and Prudential of Mexico to CNP Assurances subsidiaries for a total of $4.025 billion in cash, subject to closing adjustments. The transaction advances Prudential’s exit from emerging markets and its disciplined capital allocation strategy.
Prudential Financial received a business suspension order from Japan’s Financial Services Agency that extends the period during which Prudential of Japan cannot solicit new business until January 31 2027, and a partial suspension order for Gibraltar Life applies to its Life Consultant channel through the same date. Business improvement orders also require Prudential Holdings of Japan, Prudential of Japan, and Gibraltar to submit and execute improvement plans.
