1950年 The factory employed about 300 people in Havant, in south of England.
1970年 The factory located in St Martin de Crau started production.
1989年 In the late 1980s, we developed a new design partnership with German manufacturers of white goods equipment, which led to the launch of a new family of products.
1992年 In 1992, SPC launched the first material containing recycled plastic. Ahead of the curve on sustainability issues, Sumika is proud to be one of the pioneers in this field.
1994年 SPCUK quickly captured the UK domestic appliance market by becoming a major supplier of glass and mineral filled PP compounds to Hotpoint and Hoover, making SPCUK a pioneer in this sector of the market.
2007年 Integration of English and French plants into Sumika network by joint-venture of Sumitomo Chemical, Toyo Ink and Itochu Corporation. Full redemption of all shares by Sumitomo Chemical Group in 2023.
2012年 THERMOFIL HP® benefits from leading-edge technology in compounding thanks to Sumika’s unique breakthrough.
2014年 New location due to an SPC Europe initiative.
2019年 Sumika Polymer Compounds Europe announces the acquisition of the Turkish group Emaş in June 2019.
2022年 Establishment of SPC Poland. Factory dedicated to the production of thermoplastic located in Poznań.
