大野市街の度重なる大火を経て、金物商から酒造業へ業種転換し、酒造りを営み始める。試験醸造を繰り返していく中で、出来上がったお酒はふくよか且つ華やかで、その味わいはまるで満開の桜並木のようだと評判になった。爛漫と咲き誇る桜の様子は花の垣根に例えられ、この酒は「花垣」と命名された。人の心を喜ばせ、見て目を楽しませ、希望にあふれる縁起の良い言葉である。 |
