昔寛文の頃（西暦1670年頃）日出町の古刹康徳山（コサツコウトクザン）、松屋寺（ショウオクジ）の小僧某が豫てより寺に造ってあった甘酒を飲みたく思っていた処、適々和尚の外出せしを好機と、多量盗み出し十分飲み、尚後日のためにと、之を壺に入れ附近の麻畑に埋めて置いた、ところが味が全く一変して清酒（スミザケ）となり、しかも一種の風味があり、美酒となっていた、此の事を知った嶺外宗松大和尚（二代目）は時の日出藩で名君と云われた木下右衛門大夫俊長公に此の美酒を奉った、そこで俊長公は此の美酒の製法をとどめ、麻地酒（アサジザケ）と名づけ、藩の手で醸造に着手、以来明治まで藩の将軍献上品として、その名が高い銘酒であり、文人墨客の詩歌にも盛んによまれ、また左党の通人の垂涎おくあたわざるものであった逸品である。此れを現在に受け継いでいるのが「大分むぎ焼酎二階堂」である。 |
