Uchida Tetsuei, founder of Corona, was born in present-day Sanjo City, studied at Tokyo Electric School (now Tokyo Denki University), and obtained a chief engineer qualification in telecommunications at the Ministry of Communications at age 20. He then joined Toyama Electric (now Hokuriku Electric Power Company), but was called back after about four years to assist in the family business of selling gasoline stoves. |
