1908-02-15 The founding of DIC's predecessor, 'Kawamura Ink Manufacturing Co., Ltd.' Established in 1908 in Honjo, Tokyo (now Sumida Ward). Started manufacturing and selling printing inks, including woodblock, lithographic, and letterpress inks. Initially employed three staff members and appointed sales representatives. As demand grew, purchased raw materials such as pigments and varnishes, and refined them into products. Sales were strong.
