Established: August 29, 1923 (Taisho 12): History |
| 1923-09 |
In September 1923, the predecessor of our company, 'Fuji Electric Manufacturing Co., Ltd.', was established through a capital and technical partnership between Japan's Furukawa Electric and Germany's Siemens. As domestic industries modernized, we supported mechanization in fields such as mining, steel, and chemicals, and contributed to Japan's industrial development by supplying products like motors, transformers, generators, circuit breakers, and instruments, ensuring stable power supply. |
| 1945 |
Post-war reconstruction efforts included producing general-purpose electric motors and watt-hour meters. To meet increasing power demands during Japan's high economic growth, we expanded hydroelectric power, developed thermal power, and tackled Japan's first nuclear power equipment. We also introduced transformers and circuit breakers for large-scale substations and distribution, and supplied measurement and control devices to the steel and waterworks sectors to meet automation needs. |
| 1974 |
Between 1974 and 1991, we introduced EIC integrated control systems to contribute to energy efficiency after the oil shock, providing automation systems. |
| 1975 |
In 1975, we started manufacturing power transistors ahead of the world. |

| 1992 |
In 1992, we formulated the 'Basic Policy for Environmental Protection' and promoted the development of environmentally friendly new products and technologies. In 2002, we commercialized an SF6 gas-free environmentally conscious C-GIS, and that same year, phosphoric acid fuel cells received the New Energy Award. We also developed mega-solar power conditioners in anticipation of the FIT system starting in 2012, reducing environmental impact. |

| 2013 |
Since 2013, we have launched large-capacity uninterruptible power supplies equipped with our own power semiconductors for data centers, main converters for Shinkansen, and provided power semiconductors for electric vehicles and renewable energy sectors. Additionally, utilizing IoT and AI technologies, we have realized factory automation, contributing to stable production line operation and reduced energy consumption. |
