To cope with the harsh environment, efforts were made to strengthen and expand the organic integration among members. The 'Old Eiyōkai', composed of equipment manufacturers, and the 'Seiyōkai', composed of mold, jig, and gauge manufacturers, were merged to form the new 'Eiyōkai'. The membership totaled 62 companies (36 from the old Eiyōkai, 22 from the old Seiyōkai, 7 new entrants, and 3 overlapping memberships), and the chairman was appointed as Kazuo Kito, President of Kito Industries. At that time, the current three-committee system of the 'Tooling Committee', 'Facilities Committee', and 'Machinery Committee' was established. When referring to the 'Ni-kyōyōkai', it denotes this 'Eiyōkai' and the 'Kyōyōkai' (Tokai, Kanto, Kansai). Common events were already conducted jointly, and by integrating the two associations, the aim was to 1) further streamline association activities, 2) further enrich association activities centered on cost and quality functions, and 3) strengthen the association's autonomous operational capability. |
